Hello again! Well it’s hard to believe there is only 7 weeks left until Christmas! I don’t know about you but there is so much yet to organise before Christmas Day; presents, parties and of course reaching my goals!
Our recent workshops were a raving success – and I’m sure everyone who was lucky enough to receive a facial from Paula from Organic Spa left feeling especially pampered. With the festive season nearly upon us many of us are wanting to look our best, whether it be thinner, more toned, or have fabulously glowing skin, so I thought this newsletter could focus on the skin and how we can achieve beauty from the inside out.
I’m often asked what I feed Noah and what I do to give him just gorgeous skin. He has a diet rich in organic produce and breastmilk and I only use certified organic products on his skin. He washes in Mukti Pink Grapefruit Body Wash and moisturises in Organic Spa’s Body Butter. I make his meals daily to maintain optimal nutrient content and add variety so he doesn’t become a fussy eater and to make sure all of his nutritional requirements are being met. He is a bit of a banana fan though so bananas do feature heavily in his diet. I also choose produce that is in season and having our own vege patch is a fantastic way of achieving this. You can’t get any fresher than straight from the garden!
Pears are lovely at the moment and packed with nutrients so I have been poaching these with frozen organic berries, then blending roughly and combining with sheeps yoghurt. Sheep’s yoghurt is just amazing and packed with B12, protein, calcium, zinc and iron. It has a significantly higher nutrient profile than both cow and goat’s milk yoghurt. I’m not a yoghurt fan myself and find that combining the sheep yoghurt with the pear and berry mix is a fantastic way of getting my vitamin and mineral boost for the day!
Here’s a pic of my little man playing Daddy’s electric guitar! Have a fantastic month everyone and I look foward to seeing you soon.
Non-Surgical Facelifts
Hands up who wants to feel and look fantastic? By this time of the year many of us are flagging in energy when really we should be starting to amp up our energy for the Christmas party season. Most of us are wanting to look our best and spend a fortune on botox and other invasive procedures which cost the earth. Looking your best shouldn’t have to break the bank so to speak. At Red Suva we offer a customised treatment plan of non-surgical facelifts to help you minimise those fine lines, plump up and reoxygenate tired skin, boost collagen and elastin levels and rehydrate your skin. The treatment plan consists of a series of 9 treatments spread over a period of several weeks. During this time we will recommend dietary and nutritional support to help you maintain your results. We have also been working on a specialised gel to help minimise capillary damage and redness which can be combined with your treatments. With only a few weeks left until Christmas we are offering a fabulous 10% discount for treatments paid in full at time of booking. Call us today to get started! The results speak for themselves!
Top Tips to Achieving Healthy Glowing Skin
Were you aware that your skin is the largest organ in your body? Its role is to regulate body temperature, eliminate toxins and protect the inside of the body from invading micro-organisms. Millions of skin cells are shed every day and are completely replaced in approximately 27 days. So, if you work on improving the underlying factors causing your skin problem, results will usually be seen within 1-2 months.
Here’s a few simple tips on how to improve your skin:
Minimise your intake of refined foods as these are higher in sugar and lower in nutrients. The major minerals required for healthy glowing skin are found in the husks of grains so when they undergo heavy processing, many of these nutrients are lost.
Eat foods high in:
zinc such as fresh oysters, beef, wholegrains and pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
omega 3 such as salmon, herring or sardines, or as flaxseed oil if your are vegetarian. Avocadoes are also a good source of omega 3
vitamin D – cod liver oil
antioxidants and vitamin C such as blueberries, strawberries, kiwi fruit
silica – found in most vegetables and grains however the content may vary depending on where your food is grown
Be active – exercise assists in the elimination of toxins through sweating
Ensure you have enough fibre in your diet and maintain healthy bowel flora (good bacteria). Bowel flora is essential for healthy immune function and digestion, to prevent constipation and microbial overgrowth of the skin and digestive system. Not all strains of probiotics are the same so please ask which is most suited to your individual needs.
Aim for regular stress management – stress causes inflammation, digestive dysfunction, depletes the immune system, destroys bowel flora and leads to nutritional deficiencies – all of which are contributing factors to poor skin health.
Detoxify your body regularly. If your body’s elimination channels aren’t working effectively the harder it is to remove toxins. In many cases congestion in one of these systems is expressed via the skin as acne, dermatitis, eczema or psoriasis.
Eat organic where possible to minimise chemical consumption
Exfoliate 2-3 times per week to assist in the removal of dead skin cells whilst encouraging circulation and toxin removal.
Dry skin brush daily before showering to stimulate lymphatic removal of toxins
Moisturise your skin to nourish and provide a protective barrier

Mukti Tinted Sunscreen
Even though Summer is yet to hit, the sun is already quite intense and damaging.
Unlike standard sunscreens that contain a bevy of toxic ingredients Mukti’s sunscreen protects you from the sun as well as unnecessary chemicals. Zinc oxide and shea butter, create a powerful protective barrier against sun damage whilst green tea rich in polyphenols and vitamin C works as an antioxidant assisting in the metabolic function and repair and maintenance of the skin. Vitamin and mineral rich rosehip and calendula extracts keep the skin nourished, healthy and hydrated. Containing essential fatty acids, vitamins A, B, C, and E as well as lecithin, calcium and magnesium, rosehip helps prevent damage to skin tissue, while calendula, high in beta-carotene, is known for its healing properties.

New Products from Organic Spa
We are just loving the new Organic Spa products!
The new Moisture Rich has certainly proven a hit; more intensive than their other moisturisers, it is perfect for night time application or day if your skin is in need of a boost. It is one of the most luxurious facial moisturisers I have felt on my skin, the texture is smooth and velvety and it absorbs into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling but a smooth softness which people with dry, dehydrated, mature, sun damaged skins will adore. If you love the benefits of Rosehip oil and Intense Moisture, then this moisturiser is a must! We’re sure you will love it.
As a very busy person I don’t always allocate enough time to moisturise my body. Yes, I know I can hear you all saying it only takes 2 seconds etc etc….. So, as it only takes 21 days to change a habit I’ve taken on the challenge of moisturising my body daily. I have chosen the new Organic Spa Body Moisturiser for my challenge and am just loving it! The new generous pump packaging means I have enough moisturiser in 3 easy pumps to effectively moisturise my body. It absorbs really easily and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and hydrated and yes, it does only take a few seconds. With this now mastered I thought I’d spice up my challenge and add in the Organic Spa Body Exfoliant once a week. So far the results speak for themselves and it is something that can be easily done in the shower. Kiss dead skin cells and ingrown hairs goodbye!
